No Regrets

Not to start this post off with a negative tone, but the feeling of regret is horrible. Regret doesn't necessarily mean that you have done something you wish you hadn't, it could also be that you wish you had done something. The latter tends to be the most common - at least in my opinion and experience. This could possibly be why we are always hearing so many people talking about how we should live our lives in the present not the past. However, every once in a while, we each do something so ridiculous that we can not help but suffer in the regret of what we chose to do. Perhaps it is how we actually choose to do or not to do these things that causes so much regret - the realisation hitting you that it was 100% your own choice. Meanwhile you're asking yourself why you would ever do what you did and you are mentally hitting yourself as you recall every part of this situation!
Life - however - moves on, perhaps we should too.
Now I am fully aware that I hold on to things far longer than most people - considering that I am constantly reminding myself of things I did 6/7 years ago! I think we can all agree that this is not healthy, and I don't recommend making it a habit.
The thing about regretting lots - is that it can affect you long term as well as short term. Constantly reminding yourself of every mistake you have ever made can seriously damage your self confidence. It can make you overly cautious and could even lead to having anxiety! You start double guessing everything that you do and play safe. Playing safe results in missing out on lots of the incredible things around you. Hanging out with friends, going to parties, meeting new people, doing new things! It all becomes too much of a risk, which only leads to more regret. You end up missing out on the glorious present. So many wonderful things could be happening in your lives, don't let the opportunities pass you by.
Sure, things could go wrong - they may not end how you want them to. This could be a bad thing, but only if you make it a bad thing. Experiences help us evolve as individual people, we need set backs in our lives to continue growing. As hard as this may seem - try and see the positives in every situation you find yourself in. Yes, yes, yes...bla, bla, bla...heard it all before! I know...but I genuinely recommend it. Having s positive mindset even when faced with negativity will help you become a stronger person and is - in my opinion - a very good trait to have!

It could help those around you as well. Simply having someone beside you who thinks and sees things positively can help you be more positive as well. This is why it is so important to have positive energy around you, rather than negative energy.
Well, that's it for this post! Sorry if you found it overly cliche and cheesy -its what I do best.
Lots of Love
